Welcome to SOARVIEW, where I hope you will be well informed about all things relating to Irish ATM label issues, both past and future. All issues will be listed, beginning with Waterways and up to current issues. I hope to provide information on as many errors as possible, along with unusual covers and updates on the installation of new Wincor Nixdorf machines and their location. I will be producing covers for all SOAR issues.

21 January 2016:   Confirmed-8th Definitive Series will be a set of 16 SOAR stamps with the theme of the Centenary of the 1916 Rising. There will also be 2 booklets and a coil roll of 100. 4 FDC's for the SOAR's but as has been the case for the last number of booklet and coil issues, no FDC's for them. I will be producing limited numbers as always. Here's the SOAR's................................

                                                                                                     2016

5 November 2015: This year's Christmas issue is very traditional with images of Snowflakes and Christmas Trees.

1 July 2015:  Another rate increase for An Post. The 68c rises to 70c and €1 to €1.05. New booklets and coils once again. I expect these to be the last issues in the Animal & Marine series. Don't expect FDC's from An Post either. I have produced 2 FDC's for the coil pairs. Limited numbers as always.

January 2015: On the 28th January, An Post issued a reprint of the 68c Cushion Star

Booklet. The difference being a new printer~Cartor in France. Limited quantities of

this FDC. Email me for more info.

March 2015:  Out of the blue, An Post has decided to pull all of their Postal Service Centres countrywide. I noticed two were

gone in the last couple of weeks and managed to get some nice errors from Dunlaoire on its last day. No warning as usual-they

couldn't care less about collectors.

Irish Citizen Army:

The re-issue and the one that

got away.

Re-issued ICA Stamp-Setanta FDC                            Facsimile Copy FDC on Card

                                                                                               2015

9th Nov 2014:  Possible SOAR issue for 2016 is a set of 8 for the Centenary of Easter Rising.

That would be nice.

6th Nov 2014:  Back to traditional designs for Christmas SOAR's-stained glass images by Harry Clarke.

31st July 2014:  Delayed issue of Animal & Marine phase V. Some great photos including a terrifying Basking

Shark and a regal Mute Swan. FDC's available-done again on two covers.

21st July 2014:  Increased postal rate sees issue of 68c & €1 booklets of 10 and 68c coil pair.

No official FDC's as usual by An Post, so it makes any done quite valuable. Email me for what's available.

14th July 2014:  An Post have been granted an increase by the regulator

which will come into effect on 21st July. National rate will increase by 8c to

68c and international by 10c to €1.00. Rumour has it that the 17th July issue date for new Animal & Marine will be delayed until after the rate increase.

June 2014: To date, there have been only a handful of mint Jack White stamps sold on ebay with some incredible values realised. In time the figure will steadily rise. And what value for a FDC ? Watch this space...............

23rd Jan 2014: A great start to the year by An Post~the first

issue of the year having to be deferred because of the wrong

image of Captain Jack White being used.

Jan 2014: Just confirmed Animal & Marine Phase V will be issued on 27th July.

                                                               2014

7th November 2013: Best Christmas issue for years...

                                    Sold out before Christmas Eve.

Feedback would be much appreciated whether about blog itself or if you have any queries or are looking for any particular issues or just looking for general information that I haven't yet included.

11th August 2013: Good interest in Phase IV

according to Bureau. Some FDC's now available.

This is 5-8.

30th July 2013: There is now a Wincor ATM (ref no. to follow) located in the Intel factory in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. This machine too, is only for employees and not available to the general public, like Ebay HQ in Blanchardstown.

July 2013: The plot thickens. Now An Post has introduced 10c and €1.00 preprinted SOAR stamps in sheets of 25. Once again the date is 13092~distribution to post offices on 12th July I'm reliably informed. 100 days late lads, but still glad to have 3 different sheets of SOAR. Contact me for FDC's~not too many available.

June 2013: Due to unprecedented demand for 5c stamps following

the postal rate increase, An Post has issued SOAR 5c stamps using

the Irish Hare from Animal & Marine III. For the first time these stamps

have been issued in sheet format which is ideal for display. The sheet

comprises 25 x 5c Irish Hare labels, all numbered 1, with reference

number of Philatelic Bureau. The date has been printed 13092, i.e.

the 2nd April. However these sheets were not distributed to post

offices until mid June. No official FDC's either~no surprise there !

Only An Post could be retrospective in this fashion.

May 2013:  New Wincor ATM machine installed in the An Post sorting office in Cardiff Lane, Dublin~opposite the Grand Canal Theatre. Its reference number is 9808, which means it was moved from the Students Union Building in University College Cork. Fairly obvious that students have no spare cash for stamps !! As usual, the Post office like to keep things secret though because there was no announcement or forewarning about this installation: therefore no chance of making FDC's unless you happened to be there on the first day the machine was in use. And when was that ? Holy Thursday~28th April. Nice one An Post.

April 2nd 2013:  New postal rates introduced in Ireland. 55c - 60c & 82c - 90c.

All Wincor ATM's adjusted accordingly.

March 2013: Ebay HQ (Wincor 9817) has Animal & Marine Phase III - guillotined in strips of 5 though.

Jan 2013: The Postal Service machine located in the Square Shopping Centre, Tallaght, has been removed. Small wonder, as there is a main post office just outside the main door of the shopping centre. Another questionable location of very expensive equipment.....Asked at customer service desk when it was removed but nobody seems to know !
